2008 Elections...closer than we wish

I've been thinking about the Presidential Election in 2008. Ya, I know...it's scary when I think. But, in this case, the election may be scarier.

Here's what might happen. The Democrats might have Hillary Clinton run for President. If she runs for Vice President, then they might have a chance. But if she runs for President, I don't think they're going to win unless...

For the Republicans, I'm hoping that John McCain runs. However, I fear that Bill Frist will run and get the nomination.

Why do I think that it's scary that Frist would get the nomination? Well, I see him as too radical and too far right. He's too much in the Dominionist's pockets. After Bush, and his Iraq war that we really didn't want, and his tax-breaks-until-your-kids-will-be-poor, and his increasingly burdensome deficit spending, and his extremist judicial activist appointments (oh the irony!) that he nominated twice (!), I think America will want a change. This means that the Democrats will have a better chance at winning. And, since I see Hillary Clinton as too much of a socialist radical herself, I think this is a bad thing.

Now, contrary to what some in my family may say about them, I think that all three candidates are intelligent and would probably do an ... okay job. But, being to the right of center, I'd rather have someone closer to my own values in office. And, so far, that means John McCain. I just hope he wins the nomination. I want my fiscally conservative, individual rights, semi-libertarian (without the weird drug ideas) Republican party back.

You apparently only like judicial activists that try to make our Constitution one of many documents to be considered...

Good luck with that...

Bush is more liberal than Reagan. Reagan was more liberal than John F Kennedy. "Right Wing" is neither accurate nor even supportable.

I'm really quite shocked by your apparent disregard for reality.

No one like the war in Iraq; but no one liked 9/11/-1, either--and it is apparently keeping all of the terrorists occupied elsewhere...

If it's just the death toll, more innocent Americans are killed by drunk drivers every year than combined US/Iraqi deaths.

Stop being a hypocrite.

We all have gay and drug-abusing friends and *they* don't like Bush because he doesn't cave in to their demands fast enough.

Guess what? Bush is not Hitler. The Jews, Political Dissidents, "Defectives", Slavs, and other "Undesireables" are not going to the gas chambers...

Bush is also not bowing to the demands of the so-called religious right. There are no pograms against any race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation. Falwell is not Karl Rove's buddy...

Sorry about the ranr; but I have more respect for you than to allow you to be lazy...
